"Muddy Faces Photography" aims to capture the true personality of the subjects. Karen specializes in children and families and takes a very relaxed approach during her photo shoots. This being her predominant clientele, she understands the need for patience, humor and flexibility, as she herself is a mother of four. For Karen, the "perfect image" is one that reflects the natural child. Maybe it is the defiant expression of a two year old. Perhaps it is capturing the increasing independence of a young boy, as seen through his body language. She takes the time to assess each subject in order to depict the real personality and unique beauty.

Karen surrounds herself with an astute and creative team to whom she attributes her success. Jane Ross is her business partner and inspiration operating out of St. Louis. Lindsey Gilmer works locally as her business consultant and artistic director. She is a skilled interior designer and is available for advice on framing and integrating your photography in your home. Of course Karen's four children have had the greatest influence on her photography!

When you book a session with Muddy Faces, a pre-shoot consultation is available to you. During that time, you can discuss your objectives, shoot location and make introductions of all the subjects involved in the shoot. The sessions take place at your home or favorite, aesthetically pleasing, outdoor location.

Muddy Faces takes pride in the quick turn-around. You can anticipate viewing your images on-line within 48 hours of the shoot. You have the flexibility to send this link to friends and family.
